ISRO has established two major space systems.
INSAT : communication, television broadcasting and meteorological services.
Indian Remote Sensing Satellites : Resources monitoring and management.
ISRO has developed two satellite launch vehicles, PSLV and GSLV.
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Launched India's First Lunar probe Chandrayan-1 in October 2008.
Main scientific goals of Chandrayaan-1 are to conduct chemical and mineralogical mapping of the entire lunar surface, to prepare 3-D atlas of near and far side of the moon, with the help of photo geological and chemical mapping, to identify different geological units, to test the hypothesis for the origin and early evolutionary history of the moon and help in determining the nature of the lunar crust.
Eleven scientific instruments on borad Chandrayaan-1 spacecraft.
India second mission the moon by ISRO that is Chandrayaan-2 was thought to be the India's second mission to the moon. But it failed.
It was totally indigenous mission which comprised of an Orbiter, Lander and Rover.
Indias first moon lander Vikram crashed on the lunar surface.
Chandrayaan-2 orbiter was sent to circle the moon and provide information about its surface; it was to collect the scientific information on lunar topography, mineralogy, elemental abundance etc, to improve the understanding of the origin and evolution of the Moon.
Mars Orbiter-2, India's second mission to Mars , Mangalyaan-2 is another planned mission by ISRO between 2022 and 2023.
No country has ever had successful Mars mission . India made it in first attempt.
ISRO selects enthusiastic and talented engineers every year which acts as a boon for achivement in space arena.
Thank you
